The matrimonial covenant, by which a man and a woman establish between themselves a partnership of the whole of life, is by its nature ordered toward the good of the spouses and the procreation and education of offspring; this covenant between baptized persons has been raised by Christ the Lord to the dignity of a sacrament (CCC1601).
Preparation for Marriage begins at least 6 months prior to the desired wedding date. The first session of Marriage Preparation will be the administration of the FOCCUS instrument. Subsequent sessions relate to the discussion of the FOCCUS results with a trained facilitator. Concurrently, the couple is encouraged to participate in the Marriage Preparation Education Program offered by the Archdiocese of Omaha.
