Each year, St. Francis Borgia hosts the Community Thanksgiving Dinner with help from many dedicated volunteers throughout our community. Each church, regardless of denomination, is invited to participate in this wonderful and heart-warming event. Dozens of pies are baked, ingredients are donated, and many hours of service are given so that those who may not otherwise be able to have an incredible turkey dinner can come into the warmth of our parish center and be served by people of faith.
Our committee starts organizing the event each year around September. Preparations happen the week of Thanksgiving, and we serve from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Thanksgiving day. This allows our volunteers to be able to go home and spend time with their families.
Each year, help is needed to make this event a success. Sign-up sheets are sent to all churches and are available on the table in the entryway. In addition, we have pie and ingredient sign-up sheets on the table.
Will you help us to serve others as Jesus Christ himself served? It is such a rewarding and joyous day, and we invite you to consider helping us in this effort.
